Case IH 695 oil pan

We have a CIH 695 with the the D239 diesel engine that the oil dipstick broke off in. I've priced a replacement, it's pretty expensive for just a dipstick. I figured at the next oil change I would drop the pan off and retrieve the end to hopefully make a repair to it, or make a new one using the old pieces for a pattern. Question I have is that the online parts breakdown doesn't show a gasket for this lower part of the pan I would be taking off, it shows one for the upper part of the pan (next to the block). Was wondering if anyone has "been there, done that" and knows if there is a gasket or if it is metal on metal. This pan is cast parts, two pieces. Thanks, Paul

Paul I have a 584 and I think the cast oil pan done the same, I have r and r book for that let me look tonight when things settle down and if I do I post a pic of it. Good luck

It may use a bead of silicone or, anerobic sealant. I have one off before and honestly can't remember. Mark.

Paul I think there is a gasket that goes down as the plate for transmission bolts to it. I sending 2 pic, one of the 584 motor and the second is a gasket kit for a 239 the in my haybine, however no transmission as it has pto coming off the flywheel. So hope it help my book did not have a good pic. Good luck

Personally, if it were me, I think It would be worthwhile to some "magnetic fishing" down the dipstick tube and through the drain plug hole for while before diving off into dropping the pan.

Already tried that Harry, as soon as I noticed it broke off. I usually check oil level every day I use it.

Thanks for the pictures. If my memory is right your 584 looks a bit different than the 695 to me. If I remember right this little bottom piece of the oil pan on the 695 doesn't have any bolts into the transmission plate, the part it bolts up to though does.

You may try getting a used one from a tractor scrapyard. Mark.

Every place I called (don't have anyone close by) didn't have one. Seemed a bit odd to me that no one would have such a simple thing.

i lost my dipstick for my C80, its behind your left heel of your boot on the foot pad. they should be the same, cost a little over 60 bucks for case. this was HYD dipstick.

I would call the Parts number for this site as they have several salvage yards, the D-239 engine was used in many tractors and other applications.
Or ask someone on this site to give you the measurements of the dipstick.
The p/n I found was 3132153R91 but no stock at CIH or other suppliers.

Well I don't know what I was looking at before, but I got up to the tractor the other day and it does look like yours in the picture. Guess I was all wet. Thanks, Paul
