Case IH 86 hay rake

Can someone give a little infor on one of these Case IH 86 i think is says hay rake. It is belt driven red frame and black basket. I just picked one up and the belt is off. Any pros and cons of this rake.

The 86 rake was built by New Idea, It was a good rake, I had one and used it for years with no trouble. Putting the belt on is a little tricky, if you get it wrong the rake will turn backwards.

That rake is a New Idea rake. The belt drive is a PIA. In anything other that good dry light hay it will slip. I had one years ago because it was all I could afford at the time. I was real glad to see it go down the road.

If you need a bar rake get a shaft driven one. NH 56 or 256, JD 640 or 660, IH 37 was pretty good. You can find them for a reasonable price out of season. A good one will start at $1200 up.
