Case in the neighborhood

I have lived in my current house for 26 years. My wife and I like to travel the backroads looking at nature and checking out old farmsteads. Last weekend I saw a VAC, DC 4 and 970 not too far from us that I have never seen before. You think you know all of the tractors in your neighborhood, then all of a sudden a few Cases show up out of nowhere to my delight. Bill

Usually for me, I'm in a hurry to get some place, 60 miles away, on time. That's when I see a Case setting under a lean to or setting outside behind a shed. No time to turn around and check on it, and when I come back through, it's dark. The 630 to the left sat beside a shed for 20 plus years. I would go by, in a hurry to my folks place, always saying I'll stop and see about that tractor some day. One day that day happened and I bought it.

I've noticed the same thing. There's a 530 I think sitting about a mile away from me and maybe a CC sitting as yard art. I may see if I can get a picture sometime of them.

Today its not uncommon for some one to buy a tractor half way across country or bring one with them if they move.
Back in the day you knew most local machines or the old whatever parked in the barn. As a side note around me all the old cars tractors setting outside for 50 years were always "were going to fix that up someday" not for sale!

Dad drove 2 days 1 way for a Case parts tractor, at that time he had found only 4 for sale in the country, it was the closest one.

i know I would slow down when I drove by your place.
I'd for sure slow down and eye wander for a while, and much to the chagrin of my wife, likely stop and chew the fat for a while with him....truthfully, it doesn't have to be a Case to trigger the eye wandering, but I do like the Cases.
