Case L magneto question

Is the screw I`m pointing to supposed to ground out the magneto to kill the tractor? I`ve tried shorting it out but it don`t kill the tractor.

how can you ground a mag. when the screw is grounded, i think. look under it to see where that tab goes. you would need an insulated terminal to
ground the mag. and from what i see is that tab has to be pushed against something to ground it. or else that tab grounds to the screw to
the left. i am not familiar with that mag but its not hard to figure out. and is that screw your pointing to , is that piece metal or bakea
lite?
 
I ran a wire from that terminal to a toggle switch with one terminal grounded for a kill switch. Our L had
an oil pressure gauge mounted on the right fender bracket next to the fuel tank and that is where I put the
switch.
 
Apparently somethings wrong with it, I`ve tried to run it every way and it don`t ground. Doesn`t really matter to me right now, was just curious. Thanks for the replies!
