Mr. Case Nutty,
I would love to hear your story of life through the years. I have truly enjoyed your pics of yesterdays machinery. Myself i grew up north of ACG in the St. Lawrence valley. Wasn't raised upon a farm, however, many friends were raised on small dairy farms, i think have been now pushed out of business. Myself I grew up in the woods cutting logs and firewood. In my adulthood I am practioner of health but continue my heritage of the woodsman.

I really enjoy ALL the pictures of the past by you and others. The one with "big elrector set" (w/DC)comes to mind. Thanks again to all for great farms and great pictures. Guy's,,, I have been "thinking" on how to do some thing on this subject and of course Loren would be the big hitter in this type of game as he has much more "Dealer time" on Case than I, let us mull over a few optinions and we will get back to you, by the way he called last night ( THANK YOU by the way BRO!!) and as ususal it was great fun talking of the old days of most every thing Case, from his area he has many different memories that we out here never experianced but then I suppose I have a few he never got either LOL mainly in the construcktion end of Case, that said I do have several other things "in the works" but not at liberty to say what just yet but if all falls into place I think many of you fellow "CASE NUTS" will enjoy it keep your fingers crossed, thank you for the encourgement and I will continue posting things as they come into my camera eye, I feel I need to say that due to this forum I have met many wonderful new friends that I get to talk to on a regular basis, some every day and these people even though they may not post or comment often are a Huge part of the items/stories I post for all here to see and they too deserve a great big thank you also for with out them I am sure I would not have continued here at all, they along with all who read/comment on the posts here make it worth while, OK enough ratteling on as you can tell by now I am no writer but will give some thought to it even so,,,,,, keep reading and posting feed back good or bad and I will do my best to find things that hopefully will be of interest to all, a windy cnt

I have told many non-Case guys about this forum.I am proud that Case collectors have a place to visit with friendly and knowlegeable people that will take the time to post pics and answer questions.I am amazed at the wealth of knowledge that the people on this board have.There are guys like you who grew up in and around the dealerships,worked as mechanics/techs for decades and other people with great mechanical skills that are always ready to help.
I have also refered many people to this board when I could not help them.
As you stated Tom,ther are also many people behind the scenes who prefer not to post but read this forum everyday.If you want proof of this just go to modern view and look at the amount of views versus posts.
I look forward to looking at this forum everyday.

Took these pictures a year and a half ago of myself, my 96 year old dad, my younger brother and one of my older brothers. Dad farmed with mostly Olivers but we about always had a SC or DC around. Dad"s brother farmed with all Case tractors and we would swap machinery back and forth when needed, so I got plenty of seat time on the old Cases. I farm with John Deere equipment since buying out my wife"s grandpa"s full line of machinery back in the "70s. My older brother switched from Oliver to Case in the "70s with a 970, 1070, 1175, etc to the MX275, his latest one. We both collect old Olivers and last year I added the SC. My younger brother is a minister and used the old and new tractors for a sermon illustration, hence the photos. Arvin DeBoef

Yes that is my 300 prototype with VAC sheetmetal installed to hide it's identitiy while testing.Harry Kline stated that there were 12 of these tractors built and that all were different as they were trying different ideas.I believe this to be the 12th one because of the serial number and it has several 300 production castings on it.It has triple range and a hand clutch.There are a lot of exp castings on it.Here is a picture showing the trans/torque tube area.Notice it does not have any provisions for checking or adding hyd oil to the torque tube. I have to remove the breather.It does not have a dipstick for the rear end either,I have to remove the gearshift cover tocheck the oil.

Here is a pic of my other 300 prototype that I believe to ba an early one.It is all exp castings and production VAC parts.

Here is the only factory picture I have seen of the 12 prototypes.I believe it is earlier than mine as it has more "VAC" features.

At this time these are the only 2 tractors out of the 12 that have shown up.Harry said that most of them were diassembled,inspected and destroyed after testing.

Very Nice thanks for posting these, I had a chance to buy one of the proto's that was in Canada some years ago but falied to get pics soon enough and it was sold else where, it had the 124 motor but live pto but just a 4sp, wish now I would have bought it right then cnt

The early one has a VAC block,dual range trans,hand clutch and a crude shuttle shift but the gears for the shuttle are missing.It appears that the gears were straight cut.I cant imagine them holding up very long.I would bet that this was Case's first attempt at a shuttle.
The late proto has a 300 block.
