case paint color

I have a old ertl case toy tractor that is dark gray with red steel wheels and I would like to paint my real case tractor this same color. Does anyone know if case did paint some of there old tractors gray and if so what color of gray was this or were could i get some. thanks

I guess I should of looked at the antique tractor photos. I see they did paint them gray now just need to know what color of grey and were I can get some.Thanks

Paint is called LC gray and used on the L and C series tractors. Chech research and info in the left column under paint codes. Should be there. I believe the paint is still available from Case IH.

Van-Sickle Custom Match Equipment Enamels #CML-0021 is a match for LC Gray as is Battle Ship Grey by several other MFG's.Most 1920's -1930's era Farm equipment Mfg's.leaned towards various shades of grey for their equipment color and Case was one of those.Later different shades of Reds and Greens were prominent colors for farm tools. My own Father liked the color green but he did not like John Deere tractors so he chose Oliver green for his tractors and the old Hart -Parr 18-28 which in my memory was used only on the belt work even it was Oliver green with red cut offs with rubber tires.

Van Sickle will work just fine. I have done two CASE with it. DO not use the Majic brand that you find in some farm stores. That is better known as "Super Run and Drip" and does not cover well.

Hello,
I have a Case paint story. My 530 has Case dealer primer and paint on it.
I made a tongue for a trailer with new steel. I knew I wouldn"t be able to finish for awhile so I wiped it off with lacquer reducer and sprayed with case Iron Guard primer. It"s been setting outside 5 years now and the primer is still perfect. Myself, I can"t believe it. I didn"t do anything but wipe it off & spray it.
Another subject; the color on my 530 is Power Tan from Case. I"m sure a hardner could be added but Case doesn"t offer any. Has anybody tried a hardner with the Case (Acrylic Enamel.
