Case power lift

What is a power lift on a case SC or DC? Where is it located? What does it do? Is it like a three point hitch? Could someone post a pic. I know these are dumb questions, but I dont have a clue what it is. I am mostly a farmall guy. Thanks for any advice.

Teh only power lift I have ever seen on an SC was a mid mount mechanical unit that ran off the engine to transmission shaft and controlled by a foot pedal. It had an arm mounted directly to it, nothing to operate 3 pt.

This is a short arm with a shaft at a right angle to that arm. The arm rotates half a revolution when the foot pedal to activate it is stepped on. It is tied in with the PTO, and operates at a fraction (maybe one eighth?) of the speed of the PTO. If I had my tractor here I could give more and more accurate information.

Mostly for mounted units, cultivator, planter, lister, etc. Took place of hand lift levers before hydraulics came out. Chris

I have a 1943 SC with a foot fedal and that lift on it. Back when we used it on the farm, I always wondered what that was for.
