Had this rake, a few years. Never used. Most of them now get crushed

Have one was my Grandfather's. Last time I used it I had twine in one pocket, wire in the other. Stopped frequently to add some . Now it's parked by the road for the passers by to appreciate.

My Grandpa had the same rake back in the day, first side delivery I ever operated. Started raking at six years old after one of my Uncles showed me the ropes as how to rake hay was pulling it with a B Allis. What a thrill for a young boy! Sadly it was sold at Grandpa's Auction in the early 70's, Your picture brings back a lot of good memories.

I had a Case hay rake very much like that one some 40 years ago. I bought it from an auction sale for $26.00, and it had done very little work before I got it. I probably dragged it around near ten years, and it still was working when I parked it and bought a brand new NH rake/tedder. It was sitting at my dad’s place and he sold the big wheels off of it as lawn ornaments, and sent the rest to scrap.

Dan,

My Dad had one with a tractor hitch and my Uncle Dave had one with a horse pole. We used them until they were completely worn out. Good rakes for their day. When I was a kid there were more Case hay rakes and grain drills than any other brand in this area.
Don, I think I might pull it out of retirement next year and monkey around with it! :)
