Case SC Eagle hitch

I recently purchase a '51 Case SC project tractor. Somewhere in it's previous life the Eagle hitch system was significantly modified. I would like to restore it to original, but don't even know for sure what that looked like. Can anyone help me with pictures and/or drawings/diagrams of what the original was. Hopefully I can restore it.

I know this has come up before, and I don't recall exactly what came of the conversation. Here goes, I thought that the Eagle Hitch did not come on the SC's until Model Year 1952. As I said I think this has been clarified before but I am old and forgetful. Help an old guy out. gobble

Thank you - I have seen that info before but assumed it was not correct. Mine is definitely a 51 assuming the serial number plate has not been changed out. Maybe the hitch has been improvised, not factory? Anyway, the basics for it are there, hydraulics, control lever, etc. It appears to have been there at one time and then modified. Thanks again. Conner's top picture looks like it might be a 400' It would help to see just what your Eagle Hitch set up looks like.
I remember in about 1961 Case offered a kit to retrofit an Eagle Hitch on an older (49-51) SC or DC. I think they had a close-out deal at that time and Dad bought a kit to put on our 49 SC. I was only 10 years old at that time, but I remember a good deal of fabricating was necessary. The draft arms and the lift cylinder were included in the kit, but he had to fabricate a mount for the rockshaft which he did by finding the right size pipe and making brackets to bolt to the rear of the transmission where the PTO housing bolts on
Dad tried it out by hitching to a 3 bottom BER plow, but of course the SC needed a lot more weight up front. I don't recall ever seeing any literature on that kit or seeing another tractor that had it on, but I would like to have some confirmation that Case actually offered that as a kit.

If it is a 1951 it would be my guess that someone converted the hydraulic cultivator lift.

Pretty sure the eagle hitch was first used on the SC in 52. I'm guessing you have a hydraulic cultivator lift bail on your tractor.

His sc case must be a early 51 with the older lift system.I was always told the eagle hitch didn't come until 52 on the sc but have two neighbors that have 1951 models with the eagle hitch.must be later 51 models as the serial numbers start out with 55

After reviewing the picture, I believe yours is an early 51 that originally had the cultivator bail lift. It appears that someone modified it to possibly work with 3 point equipment. Late 51 SC tractors that had the rear casting for the rock shaft possibly could have had Eagle hitch. Many late production SC tractors were shipped to a warehouse then sold after the 52 models came out. These were retrofitted with the Eagle hitch then sold at a discount. The 52 models had live power. The late 51s did not have live power. The pto had to be engaged in order to operate the hydraulics for the Eagle hitch. Most of the late 51 models I have seen with Eagle hitch have a serial number starting 5526xxx and were built in September. October is the start of the physical year for case when the new models came out.

Late 51 sc and dc tractors have the casting for eagle hitch. But it is blanked off. Have a couple of them around here. As mentioned the actual eagle hitch didnt come out till 52 unless someone added it to yours.

Probably have the cultivator lift as shown below.

Thanks to you all for the info - I have been assuming that I have a modified Eagle hitch, but apparently not so. Does anyone have info on how the original cultivator hitch would have been configured? Maybe i will try to restore it to that. Thanks again, Booger1945.
