Case sc manifold.

Hello. I’ve been having issues with the sc since I got it rebuilt the carb replaced the main jet and intake gaskets. Turning the jets didn’t really make difference unless I ran the main jet way out. I thought I had a good seal at the manifold. I tried a propane torch unlit and no effect but dousing the intake port with carb cleaner I could tell it was sucking. I just had the manifold reface and not sure how much he had to take off. Can’t pick up the manifold until tomorrow. So how important are the ferrules on the intake ports. If there’s enough of the ring in the intake port I’ll file them down. If not can I get by not using them as long as everything bus lined up on. Thanks.

If you think filing them down is too much work, I would consider making new ones. I made some out of a piece of electrical conduit which wasn't difficult. I don't think that I would risk not doing it.

I got the manifold back and he had to machine off more than I thought. The intake ports still had enough of the hole for the ferrules to fit. I had to file them down to get them the right thickness. Everything is back on the tractor no leaks and running really good.
