case sc oil

I have a case sc that has been sitting in a barn for about 8 years or so and I decided I needed another tractor and decided to get it operational again. It wasn't to hard to get it running again but I wanted to change the fluids in it after sitting so long. I'm wondering what is recommended for engine, tranny and hydraulic fluid. I assume the transmission and hydraulic are separate but never messed with it much as it was my fathers tractor and he did most of the maintenance on the tractors thanks

I'd use what you use in your other tractors in the engine. When you drain the engine, be sure to drain the clutch housing, too. It has a wet clutch & holds about a quart. It fills from the engine, but doesn't drain back to the crankcase. 1/2" pipe plug on right(?) side of the clutch housing. If prior to a '51(?), It will not have hydraulics, unless it's aftermarket, so 85-140 in the rear end is all you need.

Use whatever you use in the rest of your stuff or you will contaminate everything you connect a hydraulic line to.

Thanks good point it’s only hooked to the two point hitch and has no remotes plumbed in but you never know what may happen in the future for now the plan is for raking hay

I have a 49 SC and after doing an overhaul on it I used straight 30W oil. I haven't anything with the hydraulic/transmission as far as changing that. Once I get my timing issue figured out I might change that as well.
