CASE SC WHEEL ADJUST

I attempted to move the adjustable rear wheel on my case sc. I loosened the four bolts on the axle and the wheel will not move on the axle. Do I have to take the bolts completely out? There is a key way and I figured that the wheel would just slid on the axle with the bolts loose. Thanks in advance for your advice. Regards, Allen

Loosen the bolts about 1/2". Turn the wheel to the top, and let the jack down. This will take the wheel loose from the axle. Oil between, and place a spacer between the wheel and the clamping block. Jack it up and turn 1/2 turn and repeat. Jack it up and turn 1/4 turn so you can rock the front and rear while pushing the direction you want to go. Make sure you oil things up good when tightening.

As DKase says plus if you have a long prybar (6' plus) once its loose, bar under tire bottom about 3-4" pull while pushing on top of tire and wiggle into postition, opposite to extend. This is how I did my 36" wheels on the 630. Determined the DKase procedure on my own, wish I had seen this post but that was about 2 years ago, would have saved a lot of sweat and blue words!! When they have been in one place for loooong time they are hard to break loose.

The key WILL NOT slide in the keyway. There is a metal pin that locks the pin in the key way (assuming the pin hasn't already been removed/knocked out).
