Case VAC Cylinder liner

Ask in the case forum, lots of smart folks there. I'm not to into those small frame cases, but it would be surprised if they did. Not many cases would swap liners, cranks rods and heads yes, but liners no.

Installing 1 sleeve not a set imposes problems, balance ,compression ratio. I see trouble ahead if they do interchange.

Answered my own question. Borrowed some calipers and did some measurements. The sleeves are the same physical measurements, so am going ahead and installing. I don't see how balance or compression would be affected, but cannot use the piston that came with it, since it is shorter to allow for the longer stroke on the G148 engine. Will use the original piston with new rings.
Thanks for the responses. If there is something obvious that I've overlooked feel free to let me know!

Thought you were using thinner wall sleeve.bigger bore.is orings in correct location and sleeve height too? Put it in loose lay straight edge across all 4 sleeves to be sure all are even.might be diffrence here.check n double check

Dunno, John. Double checked everything, then cleaned everything and installed. Fit like any other sleeves I've installed. Gently tapped to seat the liner with the O rings. This is part 5G11007 from Reliance, 3.375 overbore, which is the same size this engine had in it when I got it, so there is no size mismatch between cylinders. Filled the water jacket to check for O ring leakage, none so far. Guess I'll see when I light the engine off in a week or two. Think this will be all right, but.....been wrong before!

Checked all of that. And double checked like you advised. This engine already had the overbore sleeves in it, I should have stated that. So now all four sleeves and pistons are the same size. Will repost when I light the engine off. This is a winter project, so there's no big hurry. Thanks for your input!

The overbore kits for sale today for the VAC are 3.4375". Stock was 3.25". For a VAC block to accept a 148 sleeve, the lower counterbore would have to be opened up. The 3.375" overbore sleeve for the VAC is 5G1061K. No question, your block has been machined at some point to accept 148 sleeves.
