Case VAC Engine Oil Pressure

Just bought this Vac that hasn't run for a year. The seller said it run good before the battery died and never used the
tractor after that. The tractor had a oil pressure gauge but it was all rusted up and no needle.
I had a gauge that goes up to 80 lbs so I put that on, doesn't read any thing. I removed the oil line off the block for
the pressure gauge and the oil does come out of the fitting but not that much. Is this normal for oil pressure to be
that low. I actually run the tractor for maybe ten minutes and the engine sounded really good.
I did change the engine oil and filter with 10w30 oil.

You need a 0-30 gauge. My VAC runs about 12-15psi

I have one that has about 10 # and has been running for Years. They are not a high pressure oiling system. An 80 gauge will tell you nothing. Get you a 30# wide sweep gauge if you can find one.

The VAC is a low oil pressure tractor. If you had say a 0-20 PSI gauge it might peg it when cold but after it warms up it might be 10PSI at best. My VAC runs around maybe 15PSI and I run 20W-50 oil in it

If you changed the oil filter the tube that goes with the filter housing may have twisted off with the filter. Make sure you have the tube for the oil filter or you will read lower than normal oil pressure.
You can make that tube with brake line and press fit it in the housing by hand.

Have a VA that was just like that. Got a rebuild kit for the oil pump from John Saeli. Now Im up to 15-17# at idle. Get a hold of John, he has what you need
