case vao clutch

My 1947 case vao (orchard tractor) died. One day the clutch worked fine and the next day nothing. A friend of mine thinks a piece of the clutch fork is broken off. Is this reasonable or could it be something else? Thanks in advance. Steve B.

is it not engaging or not releasing? is the pedal mushy or stiff? We need a little more to go on. I have six VA series tractors. they are pretty basic and splitting them to do a clutch is pretty easy.

ctfarmer The clutch pedal is mushy when I try to engage it. Like I stated earlier,it was fine one day and the next day clutch pedal felt funny and would not allow me to engage.TIA steve B.
