I have been searching the archives for the Prestolite max4095 starter which is a starter for the 411 gasser? Did I understand that you thought the 400 would fit the 800 series and visa versa. I have been getting the impression that the max 4095 was only built for the 400 gassers. Could I get some clarification.I am about to arm myself with a ruler and walk through a shelf of Delco starters and see if I can get the dimensions that will match the nosecone I would probably have to change the starter drive to 10 tooth.
Any Idea what the 800 tractor used Case starter part # if you have it. Thanks in advance

Hey Chuck! Send it this way and I'll weld that nose right up! Did the neighbor's 530 a couple weeks ago!

Several years ago we put a JD 4020 starter on our 800 gas and have not had any trouble with it. A starter repair man that worked in the NAPA shop machined the nose and welded a plate on the back of it. It's probably been 15 to 20 years ago and no problems so far.

Chuck , According to lester an 810 gasser takes a case # a20873 or # a57092. After looking at the pictures of both starters they do look like they have similar bolt patterns , although the drive would need changed on the 810 starter. the 810 starter is a delco 10mt industrial type. hth jstpa

Am I entitled to save that offer for another day, or is that limited 30 day offer? Paul, the welder, at work said he would do me proud on the nosecone. I am most proud of the Case family! Thank you!

I have switched starter's on the diesel engines. I took a starter off a 500 and put it on my 800. Also took starter of 500 and put on my 400 which later got put on my 800. Have not had to switch out starter's on my gas tractors. Also took starter of 900 and it fit the 800.
