You will need a set of the horse shoes that came with the wedge locks and the two long bolts. One on each side of the hub bolted tight together so when one wedge comes loose it bottoms out against the horse shoe and pushes the other wedge out. Also you need a GOOD 7/8 12 point socket and an inch drive impact and a sledge hammer. I moved more than I can remember and keep a couple sets of those horse shoes on hand.
 
Supposedly you can hit DOWN on the top of the axle with a sledge hammer and the wedge will supposedly pop loose. Supposedly. In my experience, no dice. We beat and heat and drove pins in from the opposite side, nothing... Borrowed the wedge tool from the local dealer and it popped right loose in 1/2 a turn without much effort.
