Note the front end support (Key 1) part number [b:654c4848f0]A 2825 R[/b:654c4848f0] starting with serial number [b:654c4848f0]522600[/b:654c4848f0].

Note that tractor serial number [b:654c4848f0]522600[/b:654c4848f0] was built in late 1942.

My A that I resurrected falls into the 43/44 era but the serial number plate plum rusted away along with the steel radiator used in that time frame.
If the political police looked at this A now that is almost done, they'd be faint , not much of anything left on it that is the same when it came out
of Deere. Going change his name from POS to Johnny Cash...

Johnny Cash sounds like a good name for a couple of ours.

If I start at the front of the tractor, RH grill shell is from a 39, LH is from a 46, the hood came from Minnesota from a 47 along with the gas tanks. New Radiator core, Block & cylinder head is from another 46 slant dash A. Pistons came from EBAY NOS Stock for 12.50 for the Pair!! & I found a John Deere engine overhaul Gasket set off EBAY brand new for like 20.00 bucks. The tool box was a extra box from a Model 60 & the Generator is from a 12V 3010. Carb is from a 48 A along with the air cleaner & upper water pipe & spark plug wire loom. I wanted short hood so I could service the starter Motor easy, so the dash, Clutch pulley & 1st reduction gear is from a 52 Model A that at one time sported a Cotton Picker so it has a Extra Long Clutch handle like a 60 but it has the SMALL ball at the top, the distributor is from the 52 A & so is the draw bar & draw bar frame. One rear wheel must be from some kind of a Oliver 77 Maybe, one frt wheel is a extra I had 1268R from a 520. The starter is fro a 12V Model G & starter mount is off 46 Slant dash. I wanted square seat, the rockshaft housing is from the Cotton picker tractor & battery box I bought used off Ebay from a 49 A . Center Post for the steering wheel I built and added parts from a Allis Chalmers SP 100 Hand rails for a Light Bar with headlamps for a 520 & Float ride seat that I am still working on, steering wheel from a early 720 Diesel.. This is what come mind & I know that are many other items I didn't list. This tractor died in the Tornado of 1985, & dummy me brought it back to life, at one time a Hand crank but not no more, someday soon it will have power steering too. I will tell it runs perfect, drives well, stops well, starts well cold or hot. This has been a 7 year event & this year is the first time we've used it on the farm for any type of work. I guess it's just a passion I have? To see & hear it run again.

If she is a descendant of the Howell family from Haywood County, North Carolina, then yes we are related.
