Cat 2 Top Link Length

I found it interesting how long the top link is for our Ford 4000 SU. It’s far too long to hook up a Deere 717 brush cutter. The 717 has an extra link in the top connection that’s about 4 inches. So the top link needs to be about that much shorter. Ended up using the top link from our Deere 5425, which is even a bit shorter than the Deere top link pictured (from a 2240).

Did Ford offer any shorter Cat 2 top links, or are they all the same? The generic top link could also work. (Only $40 at Rural King).
