I'm Handy with a wrench but new to the
dozer world.. so first thing first
tractor runs great 1970 d5 96j 3306 motor
but it works great when cold but after it
gets warm the trans slips take along time
to go into gear check the oil level about
3" over full and looks like milk I'm
going to drain it and fill with 30wt
motor oil but what else should I do also
steering clutch won't disengage on the
right side this is a dry clutch unit I'm
hoping its just full of rust and needs a
good sand blasting once removed thanks
for any help

Assuming it is a power shift Cat recommends TO4 spec oil in it---change the filter and clean the suction screen
Sometimes a steering clutch can be broken free by keeping it in a released position and pulling a heavy load and riding that side brake.

Back in the day, the manuals said 30W engine oil and that's what I always used, if you go with TO-4 be sure to stay with the 30W viscosity to help maintain pressure. It sounds like water must have got in if it's milky. Doing a flush first with thinner oil would be really good. As already stated filter change etc is imperative.
