Hello All need assist with a CAV DPA pump settings
I have lost my settings and need to figure them out, I will attach or post pictures and clarify as best as can any numbers needed. Tractor is a 1959 massy Ferguson to35 with the 23c diesel four cylinder. The numbers from the pump are Type DPA 3242645 SN R5879L Z or 2 on the end its hard to see. There is an S stamped random over the word England
Data plate on the other side shows title of Governor and Fuel settings
Max pump rpm (blank)
C cs/100 strokes 38 (this might be 3/8)
At pump rpm 800
If anyone knows how to come up with the number for the chart to figure out spring settings it would sure help me a lot.

If I recall my 23C pump is spring code six, center hole in governor arm and hole closest to the swivel joint on the throttle shaft. Some codes are not marked on the pump tag, but are only shown on the test spec sheet. Most full load fuel settings are in the 32-34 CC range for that engine, 38 at full load would make a lot of smoke on that engine I'd think.

I did get it to start via towing and it idles with fuel lever at the halfway point, it will shut down if you push up more. full throttle does not feel like full rpm. cannot see my tach as the end gear is missing, want to make sure engine is sound before i throw more money at this. It actually ran good and strong we figure its been at least 15 years setting outside since last start. All the injectors were plugged and on test bench still shot sideways for the most part so im taking them back out and replacing nozzles and deep cleaning. then will restart before i start adjusting the governor again. At this point at least i know it will run as adjusted and with injectors replaced / working I will start figuring the governor settings out. Thank you for you input ill let you know what setting i used when i pull it down and then will try yours if mine is different. quite the pain to re-bleed everything and try different settings lol .
