CAV pump leaking

My CAV pump is leaking from somewhere around the bottom side. There is a small cover under there and I would imagine there are some orings? It still starts and runs but the leak really flows when the motor is running. I read some issue with taking covers or plates off the CAV. Cananyone point me in the right direction for sealing this leak?

I don't know a lot about those pumps, but according to the parts drawing, that assembly that you're pointing to in your picture is the automatic advance assembly and it has a couple of o-rings in there, plus a couple of copper washers and a gasket. You don't say what model tractor it is, and the design and part numbers varied slightly over the years, but here is a link to the parts drawing with part numbers for the CAV pump for the x600 series (2600, 3600, 4600, 5600, 6600, 7600). The parts are numbered 101-115 in the drawing:

Hopefully others on here with more knowledge on those pumps will come by and let you know if tackling that part of the pump is something that you can take on yourself or if it needs any advanced tools or knowledge to where you might be better taking it to a diesel pump specialist.

Best remove and have the pump completely re-sealed, patch
jobs usually leak again elsewhere. I won't do too cover repairs
anymore for that reason.

Agree with Dieseltech, mine was leaking bad at the bottom, when I pulled it the top cover gasket had blown out on the back side.

My pump on my 2600 is leaking too. I just bought a seal kit from my local parts store, about $40. I'm going to pull the pump and I have a friend that has done a lot of them will come and reseal it for me. They say there are some surprises if you have never done one in the form of springs and such.
