My wife is in geneolgy, so I have been in lots of libraries. Out east I have seen old newspapers that quoted grain and livestock prices. You would be amazed at the prices that were per 100# for everything from oats to hogs but whiskey was by the barrel. These prices were not much different but I am sure the yields were different than today.
