Cement mixer

I have a cement mixer that is designed to go in the back of a 8N. I still am looking for all the parts. The drum is much bigger than most sit on the ground mixers. I know it has a set of secondary cylinders to lift it. It has not been used since the late 60s and Id just a soon sell it. Any one interested? I dont know whats its worth since Ive not seen one like it. It worked well as we did three big barns with it when I was a kid. I shoveled it full, my brother and dad poured and leveled it. Months of work more like years. I think I shoveled for three years.

We had one on a TO-20,ours was all mechanical, no hydraulics on
it. My uncle built a trailed park, and a neighbor built a heated
hog confinement with that mixer.

When the world of farming and beyond was forever changed in 1939 with the advent of the FORD-FERGUSON 9N Tractor with Draft Control, several aftermarket companies jumped on the bandwagon with their inventions not offered by FORD. Items like the 9N 16 front wheels, running boards, and Tractor Jack were all useful inventions and additions to supplement 9N farmers. You have one of those aftermarket suppliers with their TRANSMIX UTILITY MIXER made by UNIVERSAL PULLEYS CO, INC of Wichita, KS. They made the mixers for 1 to 1-1/2 bags of cement or grain for the N-Series FORDS at first then modified other models to accommodate different tractor manufacturers. I have the original dealer ad brochures, the MPC (Master Parts Catalog) and Operators Manual and you can find them at the other FORD N-Tractor web site in the MANUALS/MISC forum for free downloadable copies as I have posted them. The bad news is the company is no longer in business so finding OEM parts would be a challenge. I remember when I was 5 or 6 at my Grandparent's farm in Bad Axe, MI and my dad and uncles were pouring the slab for a new barn and they used the TRANSMIX unit on my Grandpa's 51 8N. Of course I didn't know what it was but was fascinated by its design. Grandpa had the first 1939 9N in Huron County, MI which I now own, and this was my first exposure to the world of FORD TRACTORS. My email is open if you want more info...

I've never seen another make so probably was the only supplier making them. Remember, some of these implements were not big sellers so there wouldn't have been any competition. In my travels I have been always on the lookout for old barns, fields with tractors and implements, and boneyards and would stop if I could to investigate. One time I spotted a tractor business and there was a 9N with a TRANSMIXER on it! I stopped but it was a Sunday so they were closed but I left a message and the guy called me the next day and said that the unit wasn't for sale. Oh, well.
