Any powered portable ones with a guide worth a hoot?if not a hand file guide that’s good?my saw is a stihl ms 271 with an18 inch blade

Use a Husqvarna file set and a level . Goes pretty quick, just clamped bar in vise , set file left or right side and go . Very satisfied with this method , impressed with it. Set the saw on the log and let it (cut)fall through . Don’t use any down pressure , don’t need to .
