changing hyd fluid in a 706

Wanting to change the hyd fluid in a 1967 706D. I know the location and method to change the filter. Wondering how many drain plugs there are and there
location?

I can only find two plugs one is directly above the drawbar and the other is about in the middle of the tractor's belly.

Do I remove both plugs or just the front one?

I did notice each axle housing had its own level plug. The axles must have their own fluid.

I have the original owner's manual and the IT shop manual. Neither manual mention changing the fluid.

There are 5 plugs. On above the drawbar and one to each side. Then 2 more up ahead. One that you found and then one under the clutch brake shaft. all use the same oil and will fill from the one fill point. After draining and changing filter fill through the dipstick hole like you have been till full and let set for a bit. It needs to get full enough to run over into the axle housings. It will take about 15 gallon to fill back up. Make sure you get the square o-ring in place. watch that the tube is in place through the housing from the filter to the pump. If not in or sealing your pump will suck air and not prime. Wash out the screen at the filter. I just use some gas, diesel fuel, or solvent.

The axle housings may not fill up if the soft plugs have not been removed behind the inner bearing cup. Each housing has a plug about half way up to fill if necessary. Fill point is level with the plug.

Ya will not find this vary often where they will fill ,not unless the rear end was tore down complete and the up date was done with the removal of the big soft plug and the lower housing drilled . In thirty years i have only done one .
