I don't believe John is still with us. There was a discussion awhile back about him being in very poor health several years ago and he hasn't posted since. He seemed an absolute treasure trove of info about Fergies.

If you are talking about the for in the inset picture, just remove the bolts on the U shaped holder and they spread enough to open the bottom to disconnect the valve ?T?

What I do is loop a string around one fork and thread it thru a bolt hole and then I can control that side of fork from other side of transmission where I am.

Short piece of pine 2x1 works , add a piece of string to it in case it falls in .
