Char-Lynn PTO driven Hydraulic pump - Question.

I finally found the make and Model of the pump but I can't find any info on how to tell if I need to top the thing up as or to what level. If I stick a pencil into the fill connection the fluid is about 5 inches down on a unit that's only about a foot high. Any help would be appreciated.

That is fine, intake screen is right on the bottom. Check it
again when the system is full.

mke sure all cylinders are fully retracted.'Fill' to approx. 3" +/- from top.It needs to be fullenough to not run out of oil when all cylinders are fully extended. Yet not so full it spits out oil. Make sure the plug/cap is vented.

Thanks guys that's what I needed to know. And yes I made sure the cap was vented as well.
