Been a while since I've been on the forum. Briefly, I've restored a 1955 Farmall International 100 about 2 years ago. Since nnalert I haven't done much and just moved to a new home last year. In getting the Farmall ready to put on the market, I now have a charging problem which I didn't have before moving. At higher RPM the charging meter is erratic discharging and pegs the needle sometimes. I put a volt meter on the battery while running and the volts are anywhere from 1 to 20. Maybe related, but maybe not, I saw a brief wisp of some from the instrument panel. Visual inspection showed no evidence of arcing from the wiring, meter, or switch.
I can't remember where I got the regulator from, but I saw in previous post that a lot of those aftermarket will fail after a short period. I don't have many operating hours on this tractor.
I saw where one recommends the more pricy Delco. Part number: B8002-013.
I also forgot how to measure the output from the generator other than checking at the battery terminals. Is there another way.
