Cheap China Solenoid

Ok I bought 8n from guy up road, it was not running when i got it. So ive just been going over every leak squeak trying to get it running good. Replaced clutch, replaced lower lift pin leaking, converted to 12v with EI, even tho points were running fine. Everything was going perfect then other night i fired it up and starter just kept on running so i jumped off ran to garage with nothing but 1/2" wrench on my mind. After tripping on air hose get tangled in cords etc found it and yanked cable off battery. I just bought that solenoid from TSC. The one that was previously on it the guy told me was new also but it didnt work with the push button start, so i bought this new one. I will not hook this tractor up without the neutral push button start. So my question is where can i locate a GOOD QUALITY solenoid for the 8n. All wiring is brand new and i have not had any other problems with electrical, fires right up, all i need at the moment is a QUALITY 12v solenoid, Thanks for any advice

Always check to be sure that then inner nuts on the solenoid terminals are snug before installing the solenoid and avoid turning the stud while snugging them up or while securing the nuts that hold the battery bale and the copper strap that goes from the solenoid terminal to the starter terminal.

Inside the solenoid the copper studs have contact flats on them, if the stud gets rotated a bit it won't make good contact with the contact disc pulled against it by the solenoid and may burn and stick, or if rotated far enough may actually physically jam against the contact disc preventing the solenoid from disconnected when power is removed.

(quoted from post at 03:01:35 08/09/21) Are you sure it is not the switch?

I changed out the switch to a brand new one very recently. I also changed the solenoid yesterday to another TSC one and it worked fine so..... Im really not 100% sure of anything. I like the comment about not cranking down on the terminals on the solenoid, there is the possibility i may have over torqued or spun it too far etc, i will pay close attention there. I still dont believe TSC solenoid is a top notch choice, I will order one from brillman those parts look to be a step above stuff ive been getting.
