Cheap tires

I have a little Massey that needed tires when I bought it, in high school, 30 some years ago. It still needs tires. Major cracks and you can see the cords easily in many places. I even had it set up as a lawnmower for about 10 of those years. I wouldn't do that if a blowout would cause a problem, but for that tractor it would just be an inconvenience.

That said, I have had good service from BKT as a lesser expensive tire brand. When you are shopping, expect the import tires to be a little narrower and smaller diameter than their classic American counter parts.

Some sidewall cracks where you can see chords
I have an Oliver 77 in original paint that has a tire on rear with cracks showing down to cords. It has been like that for 10 years and might be for another 10. The tractor gets 10-20 hours a year hauling a 5-yard dump trailer and light tillage. I would not get concerned until you can see the tube through the crack and then change it. Steve.

Thanks a whole lot. That would be my run time so I just go for it. Would be running a pull type bush hog

Keep running till it blows then get a new set. I once bought a tractor for the tires. We fixed what was wrong and sold the tractor with a different set of rear tires. . It had brand new Continental 10 ply's on the rear. For a grand I figured it was worth it.
