Check Chain

The connection to the lift arm for the check chain on my 47 8N broke off and I need to remove the bolt. Is it threaded into the upper link, see attached photo. How do I remove the old bolt?
Will I need to drill it out?

Thanks

I'll try this again.

I purchased a new right hand leveling box assy and I can't get the bolt out. 2# sledge wasn't good enough. I have ordered a replacement bolt, then I will take a sawzall or torch to it.

I assume that the bolt has wore at an offset to the hole in the lift arm and preventing it from being driven out.

Why is everything hard with rusty metal? :)

It is not threaded.

If you wish, lightly grind the broken end of the stud flush and knock it out with a Pin Punch or take the assembly off and press it out.

Greg

Not threaded in, but likely a combination of rust-frozen in the fork & a groove worn into the top of the bolt by the lift arm. It'll be a kind of 3-handed operation trying to drive it out still hanging on the tractor, but it can be done.
You just have to lift up on the arm & hold the drive punch in the same hand. :-)
