Sparex makes a good replacement check chain. They run ~$8.50 each and come complete with 2 clevises.

The origional chains were 7 links long. The origonal chain link length is slightly smaller than todays links, so getting chain from the hardware will make it slightly less then 1/2 link longer in overall length. This is still fine. Purpose of the check chain was the keep the plow from hitting the fenders while transporting or using.
