Check your coolant protection

I always check once during October or November then just ahead of a hard cold spell in winter. I did the recheck this past Saturday ahead of the past couple days of zero temps. There have been a couple of instances where the readings indicated the protected temperature had risen mandating adding antifreeze. I try to keep the protection at minus 30-35 degrees F so there is no emergency need to drain off or start an engine. We have never had a block crack.
