Checking carb float level

I have posted a few topics seeking help with my newly acquired Ford 1944 2N. My fist topic was "fuel or fire"? My tractor was dying going up a hill and couldn't determine if it was electrical or fuel. I received a tremendous amount of tips and help. Its my turn to help out a little. I found this tip on checking your fuel level in your carb. You would have to know what the proper float height should be your carb. Mine is 1/4" See pics attached.

The quality of the picture was changed due to max requirement for photo size. I see the instructions were not legible. You can find this info on the N tractor club website. I love this site. A boat load of info.

I have rebuilt many carbs, cars, motorcycles and boats. The vast majority of them were the correct float height when they were level
with the carb body when inverted. When I rebuilt the carb on my '41,this was the correct height, though I did check it with a drill
bit.

Is this you picture you posted for N Tractor Club? It makes sense to checked the level while running. Would also make sense if level is maintaining in the tube while tractor is running that I wouldn't have blockage, unless of course there was an object floating in the tank. Good post!
