Cigarette Lighter-New Install

Anyone added in a cigarette lighter port where it was not originally included? As I fancy a day where there is negligent power loss and all gauges/lights work, I’m looking to add one in to have power for a few options on my 2630…and maybe the 2040 or indeed others.

Thanks for any thoughts, considerations or references!

Don't over think this. The lighter was an option and is shown in the 2630 parts book. Does your dash panel have the knockout plug, in front of the 1 - 4 gear shift lever? That is where they were installed when equipped with one. Or pick a spot you like, drill a hole and mount one, just make sure the area is clear on both sides of where you mount it.

If you are looking to use the power for more than a phone charger or loads designed to be plugged into a low amp port, consider using a fuse or breaker protected switched relay and a connection rated for higher amp loads.

I’m not sure how much the Deere one is would probably be the right way to do it but I did get an inexpensive remote one to power an old gps on an enduro bike to take rapid soil samples when I was younger it’s often now labeled a 12v power outlet the cigarette lighter might now need to be purchased separately if that’s your goal

Came with 2 wires and a fuse direct connect to battery
