I am finishing my last year of machine tool at a local technical college. I needed a project and wanted to make something for our 39 A we pull. My dad put me up to a task of making block inserts just like John Deere did back in the day to increase power for the farmers. Well I figured them out and thought id share some pictures.

I would like to have a print for those. I would like to make me a set of them, if you dont mind sharing the dimensions of your set and how you plan on holding them in place.

Nice job. now figure how to get air in and out with a dam in front of vavles. The plugs were machine alot different than what you made.

For what he's doing these will help performance, not hurt. In a stock application he's hurting for compression not air. You wouldn't want it on a big cubic inch tractor. Good job!

I used to build something similar but I cut valves holes and tapered back at a 45 degree angle and used a .003 press to keep them in with a .070 lip that set between head an block with 5.875 diameter. (same size as gasket opening). If you turned that 90 degrees and made the two webbings solid you'd be a lot further ahead. Your not going to gain a lot of compression. Maybe 8 to 1 if that.

Josh, i would like to see a picture of the ones that you were making. I am interested in making me a set of them as a project. not interested in going in production, just for personal use and a project. i would like to make a set for a A and B.
