cleaning knotter assemblies

What is the correct way to clean all the dirt and debris from the knotter assembly? I have NH 273.

I don't know if it is correct but I just occasionally drag push and throw most of it out. I don't pull my baler home every time I'm done so it gets rained on, so I keep the knotters and bale chamber covered with a piece of rubber roofing. No one expects you to take a compressed air tank out to blow it out after every use, and you are not going to stop every 50 bales and clean it. The way I look at it is that any time it gets wet I'm going to be sure to clean it down to bare paint so that mud and chaf is not holding moisture in on the metal
