Cleaning Knotter Assembly - NH273

What is the correct way to clean the dirt and debris from the knotter assembly? Will using pressure (whether water or air) damage the working mechanisms? Thanks!

Using compressed air is best if the chaff has not been wet. If it is wet than you will have to pressure wash it off. Then blow it off with air and spray everything down with penetrating oil. I never let my baler get wet or even a dew on it. I blow the knotter area off several times a day with a leaf blower to keep the chaff build up under control. Also flip the knotter shield up when you are baling. It lets the chaff blow off some with the plunger strike.
