Cleaning the Oil Bath Screen

I removed the oil bath housing on my TO30 and want to get the screen as clean as possible. Is diesel fuel the best method? How long should I plan on letting it soak?

Diesel fuel works pretty quick.

The mesh can get so bad that no amount of solvent or rinsing will clean it properly.
The spot weldsxare easy to drill out , remove the mesh and clean properly or replace it . Large coarse stainless steel pot scourers can be used instead of mesh .
