Clear colored diesel

Kroger's sells a yellow tint diesel and I don't remember the other tint. One tint is for summer blend and the other is for winter blend.
I have both colors. I just used the yellow tint to fill up my little Kubota yesterday.
I should use a sharpie to write on the gas can when I bought it.

Supposedly, even if the red is so faint most can't see it, D.O.T. And others can detect it with a chemical test kit.

So even if mixing it with ant other type diesel, the offroad diesel can still be detected.

That's probably how it works. I didn't hover over the IRS agent. Told him to sample any truck in the yard and left him alone. He carried a stick and test kit. His test kit didn't react react so he pronounced us clean. Makes more sense that it was a chemical reaction he was looking for and not color.

(quoted from post at 12:30:16 08/28/23) I call dyed diesel farm fuel as thats what it is for. I even
use it in my duramax as well as any other truck I had over
my life time. Totally legal as long u only drive to work with
it and dont use your truck for work related stuff with
farm plates.

Hum. Not sure about this and haven't found any authority to support your position. It appears that if you use dyed fuel in a farm vehicle that is "required to be registered if it is used on a highway", then there's no federal exemption. State exemptions are more lenient, allowing partial and full exemptions for farm use which is defined broadly.

Tan or brown tinted fuel is bio diesel, not all bio though. What some call "clear diesel" is regular ole ULSD, but its a light shade of green/yellow, similar to Mt. Dew.

I think most states require that the farm plates only be used in conducting the business of the farm, but legal authorities turn a blind eye to farmer's activities.

When I was on the farm as a kid and young man, I thought that diesel fuel was, by nature, green. We got our fuel from AGWAY Petroleum. It wasn t until I worked for a friend of my father s and was fueling his tractor from his pump that I learned that AGWAY dyed theirs green. LOL
