"Clevis pin" for drawbar . . . ?

Hi all, need some help here. I have a TO20, bought it in 1977. There was a pin that came in the bracket under the differential that held the drawbar (that I made) in place -- which I don't use very often. Actually I don't use the tractor much more either. I'm an old coot, looking at 75 this summer. :(

I have to assume this pin was an original Fergie part, it had a connector arm that held it into place (vertically) with an internal spring. When I went to put the drawbar on this past fall I noted that the pin was gone, must have fallen out somehow. So I used a 5/8 bolt, large washers and nut, which worked fine for what I needed but is a real PITA to install.

So I'm looking on this site for a new one, and this is all I can find here or anywhere else online: Is this the replacement for what I need? https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/Ferguson-TO20_Clevis-Pin_PT3.html

According to my parts book, there were two hitches available from Ferguson for the TO20. One that attached to the the 3 point system and the 'horseshoe hitch'. The horseshoe hitch uses pin #181758m91. Long discontinued and unavailable.

A thread of interest. https://www.yesterdaystractors.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=ferg&th=37637

A few years ago I was able to get reproduction pin from Jim Kirschner thru the Ferguson Enthusiasts facebook page. Searching my email I do not find any contact information on Jim.

Now, a number of other hitches will bolt up under your TO20. If you are talking about something other than the horseshoe hitch a picture or two might help us determine what you are facing.

Thanks for the reply. I've got the 3-point one apparently, wasn't aware there was a different one. I'll post some pictures in a couple days, I'm in the middle of a snowstorm now (the image in that thread you referenced is gone).

That big hole I circled looks to be the one in question. That appears to slip in between two plates under the diff that I mentioned, and the pin that goes up through it from the bottom is the one I'm looking for. My drawbar is just a piece of flat cold-rolled maybe 1/2 x 3, looks similar to your pik, and rests on a crossbar with pins on the end that goes into the lift arms.

As I mentioned I've been using a 5/8" bolt and nut but it's a pain getting it together, very little room to get the nut in place. Just getting it apart today was a pain, had to get on my back in the dirt which isn't fun at my age. Well actually that's not so bad, getting back up is the hard part. :(

Does it look like one of these?

Yes, it is just like this pik you posted, except the drawbar itself is homemade. The pin I need is the one way in the front that holds the drawbar, under the PTO in the pik.

Is the part I linked in my OP the right one?

Hard to say as this is not a OEM set-up. If I were to bet, I'd look at 8N ford pins. You are going to find it near impossible to find the Ferguson pin, you'll have to find/modify something to work, which shouldn't be too bad a job, it's just cylindrical piece of steel.

Yes, it doesn't look like the original, which I don't care about, just want something that works. I was a toolmaker for 53 years and could easily make one, but I've had my fill of that stuff, would rather buy one.

I have this style of draw bar mounted to my '52 TED . The pivot pin that holds the bar is at the very front under the transmission . It is quite short and nothing special ; a typical clevis with a hole for an R clip rather than a lynch pin .

Search 184630M1 pin and 195708M1 clip. Those hold the front of some of the drawbars that use that type mounting bracket under the differential of Ferguson, MH, and MF tractors.

That one wouldn't work on my tractor.

I finally made one today, and used a large R-clip to hold it in place. Thanks to all for the help.

I have the horseshoe drawbar but need the clevis. Not easy to find. Not sure if the 8N clevis can be modified to work.
They can, kinda - I have one on a 30 that came to me that way, and one on another 30 that is the proper unit. I was actually unaware that I had a compromise until I got the unit with the proper hitch. The amount of slop is more with the 8N adaptation and the geometry of things causes the drawbar to slightly slope down toward the hitch pin. Serviceable tho. Still using it while I keep my eyes open for the proper piece.

Worth noting that the proper unit uses studs to retain it, short studs in the front two holes and longer studs in the two rear. The 8N is tight to the differential housing and is secured by four short bolts.

Good to know,THANKS

Here's the new pin, if anyone is interested.

Regarding dimension "A":

A 1.140 pin fit loosely into my tractor. I'm assuming it was originally 1.125" but was maybe worn, although that's a lot of wear. If it is, it wasn't by me, I never used the drawbar much, and I only made it 20 or so years ago. I bought the tractor in 1977.

Dimension "B": See next image.
