Clutch cable 2290

What all has to come off or out to change clutch cable ? End broke off at pedal. Looks like not much room at valve end
I will be watching the replies as I need to replace the cable on a 2390!

Wonder if it's possible to undo the front cab mounts & lift the front of the cab a few inches?

The last time I changed one was over 40 years ago, in a pole barn at 20 degrees below zero, but if memory serves me correctly all you have to remove is the floor mat. It's a tight fit, but if I remember right it will with a few choice words. Remember to get the cable adjusted correctly so the spool bottoms out and the pedal hits the stop bolt. I'm assuming its a 2290 power shift.

I'm not familiar but can you pull new cable through with old cable?

The clutch cable is LARGE and STIFF and not very accessable at the valve end. Smaller cable behind is the PTO cable.

I remove the dash then the console to get to the nuts on the end of the cable under the pedal. May be I am missing an easier way.

What do you do at the valve end?
Struggle. I have several different brands of open end wrenches and from one wrench to another the angle of the open end sometimes is just enough different that by using one and then another that eventually I get the cable tight. Also I pop the plastic plug out and move the PTO cable out of the way.

Have came to conclusion that the dash and the surround below steering wheel comes off. Lower end looks to be a nite mare. Gonna tackle it tomorrow.
