Clutch replacement questions

Well, I finally did it split the tractor to replace the clutch. I"ve searched the archives but can"t seem to find answers to a few questions. First, how do I get the throw out bearing out of the lever housing it is in? Second, does the oil seal just pop out and the new one pushes back in? didn;t want to mess anything up getting it out. I took the flywheel to be resurfaced and the pilot bearing replaced so I hope this will be a one time split! Oh it is a 49 8n, Thanks for all the help, it is much nappreciated!

Unless you have a press, take the throwout bearing & the carrier back to the shop. Let them press it out & put the new one in.

If you're talking about the transmission oil seal, yes, just pop it out. Don't forget you need to replace the gasket. And, unless you have a pilot tool, don't put the main shaft back until you use it for the pilot tool to line the clutch up.

Don't get the clutch disc in backwards; the long side of the hub goes to the transmission.

Take the time to remove the clutch adjustment clevis & clean it up. Just a little bit of adjustment will move the throwout bearing; if the threads are dirty, you will think you've reached the end of the adjustment.....and the throwout bearing won't touch the clutch fingers. Don't ask.....
