Give me a round about cost what it would cost me to take it to a local tractor garage, everything works good it just seems like it only disengages at 2 inches to the foot rest. any help would be great, maybe it could just be adjusted.

Clutches are CHEAP, paying someone to split the tractor and install them is at the going rate for your area.

That being said, I think yours needs to have it's adjustment tweaked a bit and all will be well.

Braxmaier........uh $500? dunno. You do know that the clutch is adjustable, don't you? Just consult yer FO-4. It even has pictures fer the reading challenged ........respectfully, Dell

BTW.......the N-Ford clutch is "semi-bullet-proof" and is generally replaced only when you re-build the engine.

BTW-2......summ times the clutch slips 'cus neubi owners OVERFILL the 5-gals hydro-tranny oil and leaks out the tranny front seal ($2, cheap) Yer N-Hydraulics will work just fine on 4 to 4-1/2 gals of Ford spec: M2C-134D hydro-tranny oil. There are ways to semi-flush yer clutch by squirtin' brake cleaner thru yer starter tranny hole. (bend the straw inna "U" shape) don't worry iff'n the plastic straw falls off into the Bendix spare parts storage chamber. All excess brake cleaner fluid will drain out the 2-jingle-jangle tranny holes. Do I haffta tell ya to hoze'm good?

you can also spray cleaner thru hole in bell
housing where the cotter pin is .. i block clutch
down..spray liberally ..tractor in neutral ..leave
cotter pin there

agree it's probably just an adjustment.
Old tractor clutches are tough.
If there aren't noises so scary coming from the bellhousing that you lift your feet....... :D
and you can still spin your tires under a heavy load, it's probably fine.

If you are new to tractors, don't forget spin down time before you shift.(stopped of course) be patient.
look behind you at the pto or a belt pulley.
It takes longer than you would expect for things to stop.
(Thin UTF in the rear/trans.....even longer)
