Cockshutt 20 brakes

Due to my health, ALL my COCKSHUTT Parts inventory is going to MIKE DAUGHERTY, Warren, IN CELL 260-375-6018. He already has my lining kits, springs, and oil seals. He will be receiving many more COCKSHUTT 20 new and used parts from me soon. Please feel free to call me anytime if or when needed.

I'm chiming in with a question on the open brake drum. I have a '52 E3 CoOp and it leaks extensively past that seal. I'm thinking it's b/c of the drum inner having a worn valley where the seal is.
I'm thinking of having a machine shop weld/build up and recut. Would that be a good fix?

You can get the parts from MIKE DAUGHERTY, Warren, IN 260-375-6018. New speedi-sleeve or a cheaper alternative tighter fitting brake pinion seal that that will compensate for the wear groove that is worn into the rear lip of your brake drum. Either of the above should be cheaper than machining the drum's grooved wear surface.

Thank you both for input. It sucks, my buddy gave me a deal on a dual axis lathe and I can weld. But didn't have room for the lathe so passed on the deal.

Experts, I am running into another road block on my '52 E3. I am able to put a speedisleeve on the drum.
All of the parts books I've seen/have shows closed brakes. I am in need of 2 new rubber seals that goes on end of trans shaft behind the large nut for open brakes.

Any ideas?

Have you called Mike Daugherty, whose number is listed above? There are some members on this site who have a wealth of information and I would try that number first.

GROVE FAMILY,

On your E3 brake drum photo, there is a notched metal ring shown that is NOT ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT. TAKE IT OUT/ REMOVE IT and DO NOT RE-INSTALL IT. There should be a machined notch in the outer center, The seal you need to insert in that notch is a COCKSHUTT PART NUMBER TF-10644. Mike Daugherty, cell: 260-375-6018 Warren, IN has these seals on stock.

Update for those curious. Speedisleeves fit good. Will know once I get the right orings to see if it fixed the major leak. Ones I ordered are too big.
More important question for those that may know, why are these two shaft nuts different?
