Hi, I was wondering at what serial number the 20 deluxe was introduced?? I'm assuming that their serial numbers were just carried on after the 20's were done, or did they have there own numbers starting from 0 again??

I would like to get one, and would like to tell for 100% sure that it is a deluxe and not a 20 painted to look like it. Are there any other dead give away differences between the two models to look for??

Thank you for any info!

Hi,

The Cockshutt 20 Deluxe tractors were built in 1956, 57, and a few in 1958. The Black Hawk 20 tractors were built for the USA market in 1956 only. The Black Hawk 20 is exactly the same as the 20 Deluxe , except for the decal differences.

The tractors starts at tractor serial number 21001. We have this one, It came off the line as a Black Hawk 20. My dad bought it new.

The 1957 models were exactly that same as in '56 and started at tractor serial 30000, The '58 models started at tractor serial number 40000. In '57 and '58 most has 28 inch rear wheels. Our '56 BH 20 has 24 inch rear wheels like all the red hood earlier Cockshutt 20/Co-op E2 tractors.

Phil can correct me if I'm wrong but I think the Deluxe had the round front axle, side step and exhaust ran under it.

Hi Mike, I did a google search, and looks like from the pictures I saw looks you are right about the round axle.

Hi,

YES, you are right with this extra deluxe information.

The 20 deluxe tractors also have a 17 inch steering wheel that is tilted up a little for easier mounting and dismounting,

The heavier round wide front axle was implemented at the start of 1955 at tractor serial number 14005

If your just looking at the axle though don't let it fool you the round axle was the factory replacement after 55 if your square axle broke. And the 55 model round axle tractors were red I have 14048 serial # which is an original red 20 with the round axle
