Cockshutt 40 Dash Color

Ive got a 1950 C 40 Im working on, and Im wondering if the dash panel with the switches and ammeter was originally painted matching red, or was it silver in color? Mine is very original and as such there isnt much paint left on it , it appears silver ish in color and doesnt show much sign of red paint.

This one looks like it was chromed, it looks pretty sharp, but I dont know if any ever came from the factory this way.
