Looking at a 50 diesel. Has sit for many years but the motor is loose. Metal in good shape orginal paint. Tires decent, I own but every make but an cockshutt and dont know what a fair price to offer for it. Would would be a good offer around Ohio for this tractor. Thanks

One thing to remember is the diesels had internal engine cracking problems. Blocks, heads, etc. gas or diesel for the 50's are getting hard to find and high dollar. Rear end, transmission seals, bearings, etc. and brakes all hit your pocket real fast. You can get can get a lot of money in one real fast and since it has set and not running you are buying a pig in a poke. 50's tend to bring a little more money but lately i've noticed price being down some. Too many factors for me to give a price unless I was looking at the tractor. As for going price, hard to say, i've seen the 50's not running and running with problems gas or diesel go from around 2000 to 3800. Nice 50's going around 5000 to 5500, some a little higher. Hope this helps, good luck.

I gave $2800 for my 50 deluxe running...I have more than that in it in parts just fixing little issues with it. (then I replaced the engine for the engine was shot) I have two heads and they are both very cracked (over 15 in one) I like my Cockshutts but I doubt I will buy another Buda Diesel. If you can get it for less than 3k I think you will be ok, not something you see at ever show that is for sure.
