Combine color observation

In central Illinois everybody will be using the same color combine this fall .As dirty as the corn is, all the machines will be "BLACK"

My brother and I were just talking about that last night. His combine is normally yellow, but it looks like it went through a major fire and is a dark black. Opening up a panel will get an arm and face full of black.

You are absolutely correct. When reading billonthefarm's post with the corn harvesting picturs, I thought if those folks didn't have a cab, they wouldn't be able to breath.

For all of you harvesting dry, dusty, dirty crops, protect yourselves!

I was over at where my friend works and the two combines were so dirty they looked like he ainted them in camouflage.

It rained here yesterday, so my son pulled our combine in the shed and pulled maintenance on it. The cab filter must have weighed 100lbs when he took it out. And that's after only 5-1/2 days in the field.

We always had a chain on the super 92. I was always told it was a lightening chain. Come to think of it the machine wasn't ever really dirty, but grandpa wouldn't have allowed that anyway.

Is a lightening chain really suppose to help with that?
